Newzupp | Home

Newzupp | Home: "Newzupp allows you to share urls with your friends and see what they are saying about 'em. It allows you to do this from the same page in an unobtrusive way."

One of these it would give a good way to search your bookmarks easily

Blogger Buzz: Blog This!

Blogger Buzz: Blog This!: "One of the things I often hear is how challenging it can be to generate ideas for topics to write about. This may be especially true for popular blogs when you feel as though your followers are eagerly awaiting your next post. Sitting down and staring at your computer with the hope of feeling inspired can result in disappointment."

What is NewZupp? And why is this the one app I have been waiting for a long time

As a voracious reader(something I like to call myself as) , its normal for me to come across lot of interesting articles/links and everyone now I tweet about the links which I feel my friends in twitter would like it too. But the life cycle of a interesting link doesn't end there , I fire open Google Bookmark-let and save a copy there so that I can search for it when needed [Thank you twitter for bad search and Thank you google for not integrating GBookmarks with Chrome's - which is something I fail to understand why ]

This is where Newzupp comes in . Using the chrome extension not only it adds a note to the website which can be used as a bookmark [Profile Page --Add Screeshot] but also tweets the note and link to twitter [Make sure this gets added - Jigar ;) ].Its simple you open the Newzupp extension in your chrome add a note and you are done . It's that simple.

What it does it not all adds this link to newzupp under your profile which you can use it as a bookmark , but more importantly if you friends who follow you on NewZupp visits this site they can see your note about this site in this case the user is shown how to make informed decision before buying the book . This we believe is the KILLER FEATURE ;)

If any of your friend has already added a note to the site the logo of the extension will automatically change to [] as a notification. So next time I visit a lifehacker page to open up wine with a shoe , I know it doesn't work instead of embarrassing myself trying it out ;)

---Get the screenshot for jigar/tejas--

--The extension is not changing the logo to notify of the comment check it

And thats not all logging into the webpage gives you a miniature digg like news aggregated from the links shared by your friends .

Newzupp was started off as a news aggregator of many popular Social network sites . You can still visit it at old.newzupp.com

Shaltanacs - The other man's grass is always greener

Shaltanacs

The Shaltanacs are a race from the planet Broop Kidron Thirteen, who had their own version of the Earth phrase, "The other man's grass is always greener." Although, given their planet's horticultural peculiarities, theirs was, "The other Shaltanac's joopleberry shrub is always a more mauve-y shade of pinky russet," and so, the expression fell into disuse, and the Shaltanacs found they had little choice but to become exceptionally happy and content with their lot, which surprised everyone else in the galaxy, who had not realised that the best way not to be unhappy is not to have a word for it.

How Greasemonkey improved my Book-Buying experience

This is the normal process I follow to buy books online.

  1. Browse for books on amazon check our review. If I like a book, I go to Flipkart using a link generated by the Amazon to Flipkart greasemonkey script. Flipkart is the best online India bookstore with great web design and super service.
  2. If I'm sure an edition is available in India, I go to isbn.net.in using a link generated by the Flipkart to ISBN greasemonkey script to check out which bookstore offers the cheapest price.
Normally the second action doesn't make much of a difference, as Flipkart beats rest of the services hands down with great service, hence moving away from Flipkart rarely happens even if the cost is slightly higher.

However, If you are anything like me , as a consumer we always feel the need to know the cheapest way to get the product. And so this script. Basically after installing this script you will get a link near the book's image in Flipkart page which redirects you to isbn.net.in.

P.S: The authors of this code are chanchal and @tRAS and not me :)
